Jacks first taste of the beekeeping world was during his final years at school. After finishing school he then completed a Business Communications degree at Waikato University. During the university holidays he helped run a large number of commercial beehives for a friend, before eventually returning to Hawkes Bay to help manage the apiary business for a number of years.
Jack’s love and appreciation for bees was established at a young age, the growing interest and excitement of working with bees encouraged Jack to start the Host a Hive service so that other everyday New Zealanders could also enjoy the fascinating experience of keeping bees.
George’s passion for bee’s started as a teenager helping his older brothers during his weekend’s and school holidays. It wasn’t long before the desire to care for bee’s became more than just helping the brothers. George purchased the Kiwi Bees business of brother Jack and continues to grow and run the business with passion and dedication.
When not bee keeping you will find George out fishing or enjoying the outdoors.
